All dance shoes listed below can be purchased at The Dance WearHouse at 5390 Fulton Rd. in Canton. Always get the shoe listed and do not substitute brands. A shoe list is available at the studio.



TIPPY STARZ



AGES 4 - 5





This class is an introduction to dance with dancing games and props and even fun little songs to sing. Two levels of this class are held simultaneously, taught by two different teachers.


Dress Code: A black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional.


Shoes: Please see the teacher for details regarding the shoe selection for this class.


Uniform: Tippy Starz requires our three-piece performance uniform for our March Singing Musical Theatre Showcase (available through Powell).


Costume: The May Artistic Dance Revue will be performed in a costume.


Shows: March Musical Singing Theatre Showcase (in uniform shirt/pants) and May Artistic Dance Revue (in costume)

DANCING STARZ I, II, and III



AGES 5 1/2 & UP





This is a class where we use our imaginations while learning ballet steps, beginner technique and dance combinations to Disney style music. This class also uses props such as wands, tambourines, scarves, etc. plus we change music styles to learn funky fun movements. We also teach the children a couple of songs to sing.


Dress Code: A black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional.

Uniform: Dancing Starz requires our three-piece performance uniform for our March Singing Musical Theatre Showcase (available through Powell).

COMBO BALLET AND JAZZ HIP HOP



AGES 7 1/2 & UP





Combo ballet and jazz hip hop class is an extension of Dancing Starz for 2nd graders and up (boys and girls) and combines ballet/funky jazz with a sprinkle of singing. Students will learn turns, leaps, dance steps, and combinations as well as beginner hip hop steps.


Dress Code: A black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional.

LYRICAL SKILLS



5TH GRADE & UP





This class is for students who have successfully completed Combo Ballet, Tap, Jazz Hip Hop. Correct body placement, balance, extensions, and proper body alignment will make dancers excel in performance. Turns, leaps, and dance combinations are taught. *All competition dance team members (jazz and hip-hop) are REQUIRED to take at least one lyric technique skills class


Dress Code: A black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional.


Shoe: Please see the teacher for details regarding the shoe selection for this class.


Shows: This is a non-performance class that focuses on skills needed to become better dancers.

SINGING MUSICAL THEATRE



AGES 4 & UP





This class is for the child who loves to sing and act. Students will learn songs from musicals as well as contemporary songs heard on the radio and act out the songs we are singing. Students are also taught light dance movement.


Dress Code: A black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional.

Uniform: Singing Musical Theatre requires our three-piece performance uniform for our March Singing Musical Theatre Showcase (available through Powell).


Costume: Recreational students will perform in a costume for the May Artistic Dance Revue, and competition students will perform in costume for the May Artistic Dance Competition.

JAZZ COMPETITION



SELECT TEAM





This class teaches character-jazz or hip-hop style dancing through a large, production-style number. Students are selected based upon audition. *All competition dance team members (jazz and hip-hop) are REQUIRED to take at least one lyric technique skills class,


Dress Code: A black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional.

Uniform: Jazz requires our three-piece performance uniform for our March Singing Musical Theatre Showcase (available through Powell).

BOYS CREW



AGES 5 - 5TH GRADE





Jump, kick, spin, flip, and hip hop flavored dance movements to boy-geared video and movie music like Sonic, Spiderman, etc. This class is for boys.


Dress Code: Black shorts or dark warm-up pants and a white or gray t-shirt are required.


Shoes: SoDanca Gore Boot #JZ45 in black


Uniform: Boys Crew requires our three-piece performance uniform for our March Showcase (available through Powell).


Costume: The May Artistic Dance Revue will be performed in a costume.

ACTING MONOLOGUES
FOR BOYS AND GIRLS



AGES 8 & UP





Learn a solo monologue and acting technique. Act out the feelings of an acting piece (age appropriate) Perform in our March showcase and possibly competition.


Dress Code: For girls, a black leotard and footless tights (available through Powell) are required. Black dance shorts or a short black dance skirt are optional. For boys, black warm-up joggers and a white shirt are required.


Shoe: Girls, please see the teacher for details regarding the shoe selection for this class. Boys should wear the SoDanca Gore Boot #JZ45.


Uniform: Acting Monologues requires our three-piece performance uniform for our March Singing Musical Theatre Showcase (available through Powell).
