CLASSROOM ATTIRE AND DRESS CODE
T-shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants are not to be worn in any type of class. Hair must be pulled up and secure. Tights must be worn in all classes (only tan or pink tights permitted). Dance shorts and sports bras are permitted as well. Dancers need to arrive to the studio in dance clothes. There will be no changing allowed in the restroom.
ROUTINE PRIORITY
The order of team participation and importance for COMPETITION TEAM MEMBERS is as follows: GROUPS are chosen first, DUOS/TRIOS are chosen second, and SOLOS are chosen last. It has always been our policy at Powell Dance and Singing Center that any student competing in a duo/trio or solo is required to compete in one or more group routines (same genre) of the duo/trio or solo.
CLASS ATTENDANCE
Any team member participating in a solo, duet, or trio within a competition group routine or a duet in a stand alone routine (vocal or dance) is REQUIRED to participate in weekly classes as well as all Triple Threat Evaluations, the March Showcase rehearsal and performance, and the Dance Recital rehearsal and performance in order to hold on to the chosen solo, duet, or trio. The solo, duet, or trio will be reassigned if any solo, duet, or trio team member holding a solo, duet, or trio is unable to commit (for any reason) to their attendance listed above.
CELL PHONES AND SMART WATCHES
Text and calls during class distract from lessons and learning. Thus, smart watches and cell phones are not permitted in class.
DRINKS AND SNACKS
Snacks and drink bottles are not permitted in the classroom at any time and must remain in the student's dance bag.
RESTROOM BREAKS
Please make sure your child uses the bathroom before he/she leaves home. Constant restroom breaks take away from the quality of your child’s lesson.
WAITING ROOM
We now use our waiting room in Louisville for students only to use as a break room between classes. There is a limited number of people permitted inside the facility at one time, so we ask that our parents please drop off and pick up their child at the door.
